Resident Lists
From time to time, substantial lists of the residents of a particular geography come to light. These are not censuses, in that they either were not conducted for every household, or they were not conducted by a government authority. In Canada, Hendersons’ Directories are well known and are an example of a contemporary resident list. Similarly, a telephone directory might be considered a resident list.
