Rempel, Helen

 

July 7, 1923 – November 29th, 2009

    Helen Rempel was born on July 7, 1923, in Russia. She passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2009.

    At the age of 1 the family emmigrated to Canada, in 1924. They first settled on a farm in southern Manitoba. In the fall of 1928 Dad went to Alberta on a harvest excursion, and liked the country. He made a down payment on a farm at Tofield and sent for the family.

    Helens main occupation has been houskeeping and baby-sitting for working mothers, a job she enjoyed very much. She is survived by 1 brother, Peter (Shirley) Rempel. She was predeceased by her parents Johann and Maria Rempel; 2 brothers Peter in infancy and John (Mary); 4 sisters Elizabeth (Abe) Heidebrecht, Mary (Henry) Penner, Kate (Bill) Backschat, and Agnes.

  A funeral will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 2:30 p.m.,  at the Tofield Mennonite Church with Pastor Bob Crossland officiating .
