Neufeld, Henry

Henry Neufeld of Tofield, AB went to be with his Loving Savior on August 19, 2018 at the age of 92 years at the Tofield Health Centre.

Henry is survived by his loving wife Helena (nee Buhler); children Gordon (Serena) Neufeld, Sherry (Alan) Avery, Marilyn (David) Rooksby, Kathy Drysdale, Dorothy (Richard) Elniski; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four honorary grandchildren & two great-grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn many close family members and special friends: Linda and Mike Fujita of British Columbia, Marcia and John Boertien of the Netherlands, and Dean Drysdale of Grovedale.

 

Henry was predeceased by his son Rodney Dale; both parents; five brothers; and one sister.

Henry was born to Jacob and Maria (Kasdorf) Neufeld on May 17, 1926 in Rosthern, SK. The Neufeld family later moved to Goodfare, AB, and then to Chilliwack, BC.  Henry met the love of his life, Helena Buhler, at Clearbrook Bethel Bible Institute.  They were married on April 1, 1951 and they were blessed with 67 years together. Married life took them across Alberta and BC.

Henry’s life work was in stucco and plaster. He owned a well-known company of his own, Reliable Stucco and Plaster, which was later named Neufeld Stucco and Plaster. The last seven years of his working life was at Sterling Upholstery. Retirement brought Henry and Helena to Tofield, AB in 2004. Henry’s life interest and passions included carpentry, woodworking, golfing, floor curling and of course included family and special time with his grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Tofield Community Church with Pastor Ken Stumph officiating.  Interment will follow at the Tofield Cemetery.
