The Mennonite Community Living Association was incorporated in 1999 “To operate as a benevolent non-profit organization in employing its property, assets and rights to provide care for the aged, the infirm, the chronically ill, the disabled and disadvantaged, and to engage in all manner of Christian Welfare.”   It was a successor agency of an unincorporated Mennonite Housing Society which had been established in 1993 and, in 1998, solicited support for a benevolent housing initiative, and of an Inter-Mennonite Housing Society.   The Mennonite Community Living Association facilitated the purchase of several condos in  Edmonton but was not able to achieve it main objectives in Calgary and was dissolved in 2003.   It was closely associated with Mennonite Central Committee, Alberta, and all remaining assets, after discharge of all obligations, were transferred to Mennonite Central Committee, Alberta.
