Anne Glanzer Hofer
September 24, 1924 ~ January 16, 2018
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5:13
“Auntie” Anne Glanzer Hofer, of Raymond, Alberta, passed away peacefully after a short stay in the Raymond Health Centre. She was 93 years old, but her mind was still as sharp as could be.
She was born in Raley, Alberta, to John and Barbara Hofer, and later on the family relocated to a farm near Raymond.
Anne loved the Lord with all her heart and made Jesus a priority in her life. She was a faithful member of the Stirling Mennonite Church and she will be greatly missed for her caring, cheerful ways. She was always reaching out to others who needed help, whether it be with planting beets, washing and ironing clothes for a new mother or preserving garden produce. Aunt Anne loved having company and cooking good meals. She had the rare gift of being an excellent listener and was a faithful “keeper of confidences.”
Anne is survived by one sister-in-law; Wilma (Paul) Hofer of Raymond and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six brothers and six sisters.
The family would like to express warmest thanks to Faye Peachy, who so faithfully and cheerfully stayed with Aunt Anne during the night when she could no longer be alone. A heartfelt thank you to the many nieces, nephews and church friends who took her to the doctor, brought food, cleaned the house or simply came to visit. We also want to thank the competent Raymond Health Centre staff for their excellent care!
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a Viewing Service between 6:30pm and 8:30pm, with a short program beginning at 7:00pm, Friday, January 19, 2018 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the STIRLING MENNONITE CHURCH, Highway 52 and Range Road 201 South.
