HARMS, Jacob (Jake) 

1925 – January 6, 2015

Jake Harms of Lethbridge, formerly of Edmonton passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Health Centre on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the age of 80 years.

Jake had a very courageous battle with cancer and always kept a stiff upper lip as he went through five years of treatments. Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and palliative team at St. Michaels Health Centre for the encouragement, kindness and care that they provided for him.  It was a long journey, with a peaceful end.

Jake is survived by daughters, Sharon (Cal) Wojtowicz and Brenda Trockstad, his brother Henry Harms and sister Nettie (Elmer) Boehr, grandchildren, Cam, Curtis (Kristin), Marcy (Nick), Sharla, Carley (Dave), Nikki (Erica), great-grandchildren, Davey, Cruz, Owen, Ava, Ethan and step-children, Sandy (Tom), Dean (Susan), step-grandchildren, Peyton, Taylor-Lynn, Mallory and Brooke and special friend, Diane Houston.

Jake was predeceased by his cherished companion Deanna Neville, his parents Jacob and Helena and nine siblings.

A Memorial service will be held at 3:30pm on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge, AB.
