Helen grew up on the farm in Sunnyslope and in the early years of her marriage, lived in various places across Alberta, Manitoba, where ever her husband John’s work took them. Helen and her family were long-time residents of Bowness, where she quietly nurtured her family and indulged in her passion for the outdoors by growing a large, beautiful garden each summer on their river-front property. For some years Helen assisted her husband at his business, Bowness Photos, then worked at various part-time job at the Foothills Hospital, U of C Infirmary and at The Bay. Upon leaving Bowness and moving to the Ridge in Silver Springs, Helen continued to enjoy the river valley and pursued her love of nature by her almost daily walk along its pathways. After Helen and John moved to Dreamview Village in Hawkwood, Helen was an enthusiastic participant in various social activities, and she enjoyed the friendships of the other residents. They relocated to Edgemont Retirement Residence, where she resided until her passing. While there she appreciated the kind care and assistance she received.
