October 8, 1923 – March 7th, 2010

David was born on October 8, 1923 in Ladekopp, Russia. He passed away on March 7, 2010 at the age of 86 years.

He came to Canada with his parents, David and Elizabeth, and younger sister Mary, in October 1925.  They settled in southern Alberta in the Chinook area where his parents bought a farm.  Due to the dry years of the 1930’s they had to move, so in 1937 they moved to Tofield.

On June 14th, 1942, David was baptized on the confession of his faith in Jesus Christ and was recieved into the Fellowship of the Tofield Mennonite Church.

On July 21, 1946 David married Margaret Heidebrecht with whom he shared the joys and sorrows for 62 years.

David will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by his children:  Ron(Pat), Larry(Marion), Esther(Tom), Ernest(Sharon); 13 grandchildren, 6 chosen grandchildren,15 great grandchildren.  Four sisters-Mary(Jerry), Erna(Ed), Anne,Lydia(Menno), sister-in-law Justine and numerous nieces and Nephews, relatives and friends.

David was predeceased by his wife Margaret, his parents, David and Elizabeth, and 2 brothers, George and Eddie.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 12, 2010 at Tofield Mennonite Church, 5631 – 47 St., Tofield, AB. Interment will follow at the Tofield Cemetery.
