Wiebe, Ertman Edd

September 5, 1926 – September 25, 2008

WIEBE, Ertman G. September 5, 1926 – September 25, 2008 Ertman G. Wiebe (Edd), beloved husband and best friend of Erna Klassen Wiebe, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 25. Edd was born in Lowe Farm, MB. At a young age, he left for the logging camps of B.C. Upon his return to Manitoba, he married Erna Klassen on July 15, 1950. Edd graduated as a carpenter in 1952 and from then on honed his craft. In 1969, the family moved to Calgary where Edd began his own business in his chosen trade. Along the way his clients became friends. Edd will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Erna, daughter, Janice (Jerry) and his sons, Richard and Nelson (Gloria), eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Bruce, granddaughter Carla and sister Ester. He will also be remembered by his brother, Peter Norman (Gail) and sister, Gertrude, nieces, nephews and many friends. A Visitation will be held at Foothills Mennonite Church, 2115 Urbana Road N.W., on Sunday, September 28, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. with a Celebration of Life following at Foothills Mennonite Church on Monday, September 29, 2008 at 3:30 p.m.
