Title and Physical Description

Heinrich Kornelsen fonds. — [Translated ca. 2011 (originally created ca. 1956)]. — 0.5 cm of textual records.

Biographical History

Heinrich Kornelsen was a trustee of the school district of Ready Made, near Coaldale, Alberta. In 1946 he was co-founder of the Alberta Mennonite High School, a private boarding school at Coaldale which taught the Alberta school curriculum with additional emphasis on Mennonite beliefs and values. The school closed in 1964.

Custodial History

The original manuscript was passed on to Heinrich Kornelsen’s daughter Ann Kornelsen, who passed it on to John B. Toews.

Scope & Content

The fonds consists of John B. Toews’s translation of Heinrich Kornelsen’s manuscript essay, “Some Events and Dates Related to the Founding of a Mennonite High School”.
