Mary Adina Thiessen 1926 ~ 2014   With deep gratitude for a long life well lived, the family of Mary, beloved wife of Jacob P Thiessen, announce her passing, November 11, 2014 at the age of 88 years.   Mom was born in Siberia February 4, 1926 and moved to Canada, arriving in Namaka, Alberta, Christmas of 1927.  She moved to Coaldale to attend Bible School.   Music and reading were lifelong loves.   She and Dad were married August 19, 1945 and raised a family of ten children on the family farm.  David (Lue); Betty (Walter Loewen); Mary (Mark Thiessen Nation); Walter (Neva); Ed (Pat); Alvina (Bevin Buehler); Doreen; Weldon (Heather); Ernie; Richard (Vera).   She is lovingly remembered by 44 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.  There are 98 family members celebrating her life.   Mom was predeceased by her parents, David and Liese Geddert, two brothers and two sisters as children, and brother George and sister Agnes as adults.  Mom is survived by her sister Betty Boschman and her brothers, Dave (Hilda) Geddert and Jake (Mary) Geddert, and her sister-in-law, Ann Geddert.   We have been fortunate to celebrate the fruit of God’s Spirit and wisdom in Mom’s interactions with all those she met in her life.   The staff and volunteers at the Sunny South Lodge, as well as all her medical caregivers, know how much Mom appreciated their care.  We thank you for the love and respect you have shown our parents. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Friday, November 14, 2014 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at COALDALE MENNONITE BRETHREN CHURCH, 2114 – 18 Street, Coaldale, with Pastor Lorne Willms, officiating. A private family interment will be held in the Coaldale Cemetery, Mennonite Section.
