Richard Schultz
1934 ~2018
Mr. Richard Schultz of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Anne Schultz, passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with MS on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the age of 83 years.
Richard was born on the farm Southeast of Rush Lake, SK to Diedrich and Amanda Schultz. He started out in school at the Murraydale District School and then to Rockside School. He then went to Bethania School until the age of 14 when he left home. He went to work for some local farmers and then eventually went to Briercrest Bible College for one year. He moved to Alberta and built and graded roads near Hanna when he met Anne Siebert and later married in 1967. In 1969, they started farming near Vauxhall, AB. This is where they started their family. In 1981, they moved to Purple Springs and then to Taber a number of years later and eventually to Lethbridge to retire.
Dad was a very hard-working farmer even as he started to be limited physically by Multiple Sclerosis. He loved to laugh and joke lots. He also loved baseball and sometimes got together with family to play ball. He was also very passionate about politics and would talk politics to anyone who would listen.
Richard was predeceased by his wife Anne, parents Diedrich and Amanda Schultz, parents-in-law, Peter and Susanna Siebert, his siblings, Nora, Mabel, Elmer, Caroline, Viola and Raymond and by his in-laws Peter, Dave, Jake, Tina, Helen and Mary.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, daughter Patricia (Courts) Bydevaate (Joe), Chelsea (Graham) Thiessen, Jeff Courts, Tracy Bydevaate, Alicia Bydevaate; sons Wes (Anna) Schultz, Kassidi Schultz and Ed Schultz; brother Eldon Schultz; in-laws Sue, Nettie, Lydia, John and Henry; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, their families and also friends.
