We celebrate the homecoming of Rick Janz. He went to be with Our Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 24th, 2016.

He was born on January 31st, 1959 in Calgary, Alberta. His parents Helmut and Martha Janz raised him to love the Lord God with all of his heart. He spent his school years in Calgary and once high school was completed, decided to go to Europe to attend Capernwray Bible College. It was there that he made a life commitment to follow Jesus. He did mission work and schooling in Sweden, England and Germany. When he returned to Canada, he embarked on a career in the Oil and Gas industry. He married his wife Geri in 1984 and together they moved to White Rock, B.C. to begin their family while serving the Lord and building his career returning to Calgary in 1997. Rick had a passion for music and had quite a guitar collection. His favorite t-shirt reads “You can never have too many guitars.” He played on several worship teams throughout the years and loved all kinds of music. Rick was a faithful husband, father and friend. He was very active in community service and loved being around people. He had a gift to be able to see the good in everyone.

Rick is survived by his wife Geri, their children Rebecca, Matthew, Emily and her husband Zander, Katie and her fiancé Michael, Rick’s sister Sharon and her children Eric and Ian, his father Helmut and his wife Hertha, his sister-in-law Alison and her husband Danny and their children Joshua and his wife Courtney (and daughter Brooklyn), Whitney, Zachary, Sofie and Jasmine, his mother-in-law Pamela and his father-in-law Archie. He is predeceased by his mother Martha.

The service for the celebration of his life and homecoming will be held at FOOTHILLS ALLIANCE CHURCH (333 Edgepark Boulevard NW) on Saturday, July 30th, 2016 at 1:30 p.m.
