October 28, 1922 – July 13, 2017

F. Leonard Dyck passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the age of 94 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 41 years, Anne Dyck (nee Warkentin); his daughters Lois Epp (Henry), Joyce Scott (Steve), Brenda Williams (David), Myrna Pyra (Brian), and Janet Krastel (Rob Forbes). He will also be remembered by his eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and many more family and friends. Leonard was predeceased by his parents, all of his siblings, his wife Flora Dyck (nee Sommerfeld) in 1973, and his great-granddaughter Lily Jayne Trefiak. Leonard was born in Dunelm, Saskatchewan, on October 28, 1922. He grew up in the Wymark area, where he farmed, and together with his wife Flora they raised their five daughters. In the late 1960’s he retired from farming and moved to Swift Current, Saskatchewan and engaged in business interests. In his later years, Leonard travelled extensively with Anne and eventually relocated to the Calgary area. His chief joys in life were his faith and his family. His kindness, patience and constructive attitude continued to the end of his life. This outlook on life was greatly appreciated and a benefit to all. A Visitation will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE (JACQUES CHAPEL), 12700 Macleod Trail South (at Lake Fraser Gate) on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held the following day at Trinity Mennonite Church, 32023, 232 Avenue West, Foothills (on the corner of 232 Avenue and Highway 552), on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow.
