Braun, John David

John David Braun, beloved husband of Johanna Braun, of Calgary, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2005 at the age of 77 years.

 John lived an inspiring life. He was enthusiastic and open to the adventures the world had to offer. He and Johanna immigrated to Canada in 1957 and established a home in Calgary for their young family. Always open to challenges he became an accomplished builder and gardener. In his busy retirement John continued to expand his knowledge. Faith and family were of the utmost importance to him.

Besides his loving wife of fifty-four years, John is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Heidi and Stephen Gibson, of Calgary; four sons and daughters-in-law, Rudy and Lottie Braun, of Winnipeg, MB, Harry and Darcy Braun, Gary and Allison Braun, and Rick and Sara Braun, all of Calgary; nine grandchildren, Rebecca and Kaylee Gibson, Tyler, Stefan, and Krista Braun, Kyle, Jeremy, and Samuel Braun, and Lucas Braun. He is also survived by his sister Maria Braun; his brother Gerhardt Braun; two sisters-in-law, Anna Giesbrecht and Herta Harms; and two brothers-in-law, Jacob Harms and Peter Niebuhr; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 form 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at First Mennonite Church (2600 Richmond Road S.W.) on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Marv Thiessen, Presider. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
