BARTEL _ Elli-Rose

December 7, 1989 – September 9, 2009
At the young age of 15, she flew on the wings of an angel to be with her King and Heavenly Father. Her love and exuberance for life was only surpassed by her first love for Jesus. Elli was blessed to have traveled to twenty-one countries in her short life doing what she loved best, helping people from holding babies in orphanages, to teaching Bible stories to children, to praying for older people in medical clinics, she touched many lives. Elli’s smile outshone the largest sunflower, her spirit and heart bigger than the deepest sea. One of her favorite verses is Philippians 1:20-22: “For I live in eager expectation and hope that I will never do anything that causes me shame, but that I will always be bold for Christ, as I have been in the past, and that my life will always honor Christ, whether I live or die. For to me, living is for Christ, and dying is even better. Yet if I live that means fruitful service for Christ. I really don’t know which is better.” Elli leaves to carry on the Lord’s work, her loving parents, Mom Tammy (Rempel) and Dad J.D. (Dick); her two beautiful sisters, and best friends, Somerlea and Jessalayne; her big brother, Somer’s boyfriend Esteban; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. Don (Janice) Rempel, Jeff and Jennifer; Angela (Rempel) (Kelly) Grams, Corie (Chad) Kennedy and Kayden, Landon (Theresa); Carol (Rempel) Wilf Bartel, Christalea, Candice and Bethany; Barb (Bartel) (Phil) Heidebrecht, Alex, Ethan and Mikaela; Sheryl (Bartel) (Gerald) Grasmeyer, Lauren, Micah and Reuben; and lovingly adored by her grandparents, Oma and Opa Rempel (Sylvia and Vic) and Opa Bartel (Gerhard and Lil); and so very many friendships that touched and enriched her life in a powerful way. Elli-Rose was preceded by her Oma Margaret Bartel. A celebration of Elli-Rose’s life will be held Saturday, September 17, 2005 in the Canmore Collegiate Gymnasium at 1:30 p.m. Refreshments and a light lunch will be served afterwards. Please dress for a party, pick a color from the rainbow. A Memorial Service for Elli’s love for life and friendship will be held Tuesday September 20, 2005 at Briercrest Bible College, Caronport, Saskatchewan, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Elli’s passion for children and youth in missions, donations can be made through Trinity Bible Church,
